  • Ron Watson

    INTERIM PASTOR (beginning July 27)

Ron is a graduate of The Citadel, Union Presbyterian Seminary, and received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary. He is married to Jules, and they just celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. He has served churches of all sizes in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. In 2023, Ron felt called to devote the remaining years of his ministry to serving as an interim pastor, helping churches through transitions of leadership. Ron has served in Tampa in this capacity, and most recently at Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven.

Ron and Jules have two grown children, Davis (Meg) and Mary Ruth (Greg), and three grand-daughters. Ron and Jules are trying their best to visit all of our national parks, including Great Smoky Mountains, Olympic, Grand Teton, and Yellowstone. They are traveling in mid September to the "Big 5" in Utah, namely, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Arches. Ron is a well below average golfer trying to officially reestablish his handicap of 24. A native of Columbus, Georgia, Ron is still a big Braves fan along with the rest of the family. He has played many musical instruments in his life but mostly concentrates on guitar these days. Ron is an avid reader, especially of escapist literature along with non-fiction and theology.

Ron has always been active in presbytery, including stints on the Committee on Ministry, the Call Commission, the Committee on Preparation for Ministry, and the Permanent Judicial Commission. He is excited about serving as the Interim Pastor of Geneva! Ron's first Sunday in the pulpit will be July 27, 2025.
